However, it is supported in the Netflix app for Windows 8 and Windows 10. Please note that not every episode or season of a 5.1 supported TV show may have 5.1 available. If the movie or TV show you are watching has 5.1 Dolby available, make sure this option is selected within the Audio & Subtitles menu during playback. This is important information directly from Netflix: Your Playstation should now play Netflix and the sound will be heard. Be sure Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus are not checked. CH 44.1 kHz & Linear PCM 2, Ch 48 kHz are selected. If you have selected HDMI cable, go to Manual, be sure just Linear PCM 2. If you select Audio Input Connector/SCART/AV MULTI then press X to save the settings and try Netflix once again. Go to the PlayStation home screen, go to Settings, Sound Settings, Audio Output Settings, Highlight the cable you are using to connect the PlayStation to your TV, press X. PLAYSTATION DOES NOT HAVE SOUND WITH NETFLIX: This should fix the issue with Neflix not getting sound and you will now be able to hear sound from your Apple device. If Best Quality Available does not fix the problem, select the Stereo audio setting. If you have Apple TV 4 Go to Settings, Audio and Video, Surround Sound, Best Quality Available to turn on the surround sound. By changing the audio setting to something besides 5.1, you will get sound from Netflix. If you have surround sound connected to your TV and you hear no sound when streaming Netflix, go into the settings of your surround sound component and change the setting to anything but 5.1. SURROUND SOUND DOES NOT WORK WITH NETFLIX: This “refreshing” of all components will sometimes fix the issue and you will get sound from Netflix. If this still does not work, disconnect your modem and router for 30 seconds, reset the device you are using to stream Netflix, and reset or restart your TV. RESET ALL COMPONENTS TO GET SOUND FROM NETFLIX: This should fix the issue and Netflix will have sound. You will need to go into the audio settings of the device you are using and change the surround sound to anything but 5.1 Dolby Digital. Some movies or TV shows streamed from Netflix do not stream the proper audio output for the audio selection you are using, therfore you cannot hear the sound. ALL NETFLIX STREAMING DEVICES CONNECTED DIRECTLY TO TV: If your streaming device is connected directly to the TV you may not be getting sound from Netflix because you are trying to stream in surround sound 5.1 Dolby Digital.
